Each month we hold the best open mic night in Taunton and often see people of all ages. We’ve had poets, musicians, comedians and everything in between.
But due to lock down we present this month’s Open Mic Night online. So simply watch the videos below produced by each individual person to enjoy a piece of local culture direct in your home.
Act No. 1 – Give a big applause to our first act Flick who played at our Open Mic before and here she performs with her friend Bella Beney:
Act No 2 – Here is local duo Slug & Walrus who have written this song called ‘In Quarantine’. Both have performed at CICCIC before but nice to see their talents give this interesting take on the lock down.
Act No.3 – Is Blake Sealey from Somerset who works in theatre and other performance related services. Here is his rendition of Sledgehammer.
Act 4 – Is Abbey Barton who covers the beautiful ‘Older Chests’ by Damien Rice and it always warms us to see such young talent.
Act 5 – Here is Pete Izzard with his live recording of his original composition “Rite of Passage”, taken from his 3 track EP Timelessness.
Act 6 – Is Sam Welbourne from Glastonbury who plays a wonderful tune Granada by I. Albeníz and though a simply song is challenging but Sam does a great job.
Act 7 – Is Mel Reeves who plays in many bands that perform at CICCIC and here Mel performs Can You Feel The Love Tonight.
Act 8 – Students from Richard Huish College perform Valerie and includes Russell Cheung, Patrick Messenger, Ana Nunes, Benji Prosserpowell and some random guys head.
Act 9 – This is James Beeson from Taunton and here is his song Essay in Love. Performed earlier in 2020.
Act 10 – Mercy – Preformed by Bridgwater and Taunton College Students.
