‘UNDIVIDED MINDS’ BA (Hons) Fine Art Exhibition 17th – 27th April -, Preview evening Wednesday 17th April 6-8pm
Renee Wilson’s artwork seeks to explore the inner workings of her mind. “My artwork has felt so authentic during its process, that I sometimes feel I am playing catch-up with myself.” The use of process-led art has led to an established body of artwork that expresses these findings through materiality and visual language. The work offers an insight into a non-typical mind, with a thoughtful look into a feeling of weighted anticipation; the weight of the waiting.
Lauren Darling The female form has been a focal point for artists throughout history. As we try to understand the body, these works seek to question the sexualisation, and objectification that has been placed on the female body. when viewing these women, answer the question, do you feel guilty?
Rebecca Mitchell’s artwork delves into the themes of aloneness, loneliness, and liminal space. The artist pays close attention to the relationship between the figure and the surrounding environment in her paintings and is currently working on a new series that will feature herself, depicted in the quiet moments of life.
Ellen Singleton-Voss Thanatophobia is an on-going series of paintings depicting fictional goddesses who represent this intense fear of death from a non-spiritual point of view and envy of those with religious beliefs who have comfort in the afterlife.
Each goddess represents and explores depictions of the afterlife in pairs; Reincarnation and Decay and Heaven and Hell.
Libby Cole Libby Cole’s artwork explores the seen and the unseen of human beings. Exposing the parts of ourselves we often try to hide through putting on facades to mask our struggles, thoughts and emotions. Using photography to delve into the textuality of images to bring together a perception of truth and insight.
