Somerset Wildlife Trust (SWT) is organising this environmental hustings on behalf of the Taunton Environment Network (TEN). Held at CICCIC.
About this Event
With 20,000 members, Somerset Wildlife Trust is the county’s leading conservation charity, dedicated to conserving a broad range of wild places and fragile habitats, and safeguarding the future of some of the county’s most iconic and vulnerable wildlife. We manage reserves across the county which together equate to over 1,700 hectares of land, and inspire communities to take action for wildlife and get involved in events throughout the year.
TEN is a group of environmental organisations that work together in the Taunton area to raise awareness of environmental issues and promote positive action to address them, helping to make our Garden Town a cleaner, greener, healthier place to live, work and visit.
Georgia Stokes, SWT CEO will chair the event.
All four candidates have confirmed their attendance;
- Gideon Amos – Liberal Democrats
- Liam Canham – Labour
- John Hunt – Independent
- Rebecca Pow – Conservative
There will be time for open questions from the public on the night but if you would like to forward a question in advance please email steve.mewes@somersetwildlife.org. These advance questions will not be shared with the candidates but we will select a handful to start the event.
Ideally we would prefer questions to be from the general public and not from county or district councillors. This is to ensure that the general public get the most chance to have their questions answered.
