- “A rare breed indeed. Great jokes among well crafted stories” – Indie Comedy Review
Opening Act – Jules O’Brian
Brummie based Jules performs around the country, telling anyone who will listen about ageing disgracefully, body hang–ups, parenting, and dating. This former teacher’s relaxed, chatty style, crowd interaction and warmth, all served with a sardonic wit, make her a natural crowd pleaser.
Jules was nominated for the Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent award in 2022, and was shortlisted for Funny Women 2023.
She performs her one woman show, “Avoid excessive cleavage (and other advice to ignore)” at comedy festivals, and gives talks about having embarked on her comedy career as an older woman, to various groups.
MC – Ian Murphy
At 51, Ian Murphy is a fresh face in the comedy world, bringing a unique mix of 80’s cynicism and contemporary confusion to the stage. Originally from Liverpool, Ian’s transition from a failed football career and a loss of £1M live on TV to stand-up comedy has provided him with a wealth of material that resonates with audiences. Now living away from his hometown for over half his life, Ian humorously reflects on his recovering “scouseness” and the cultural shifts he’s witnessed.
Since starting his comedy career, Ian has quickly gained recognition, winning the title of Devon Comedian of the Year 2023. His performances at the Altitude Comedy Festival 2024 and the renowned Hot Water Comedy Club, as well as providing tour support for Emmanuel Sonubi, showcase his rapid rise in the comedy circuit. Ian’s humor is inspired by early childhood comedy heroes such as Morecambe and Wise, Tommy Cooper, and Billy Connolly, blending nostalgic wit with his unique perspective on life.
- “An exceptionally confident entertainer, delivering humour that resonates brilliantly. A definite standout new act to keep an eye on!” – Torquay Comedy Club
