This is one live jazz music gig with a difference.

Jazz Jukebox is a unique opportunity to choose the tunes that you hear at a gig.  You can select from a (long) list of well-known tunes  –  everything from ‘Summertime’ and ‘It don’t mean a thing (if it ain’t got that swing)’ to ‘Moon River’ and even a Eurovision-winning song. Jazz Jukebox features two regulars on the South West jazz scene  –  Hywel Davies (piano) and Luke Belcher (bass).

Hywel Davies has played in the South West jazz scene for more than twenty years, hosting residencies that featured players such as Stan Sulzmann, John Barton, Pete Judge – as well as leading his own groups (such as Newton’s Toad). His partnership with Luke Belcher (a native of New Zealnd) has resulted in projects such as The Crystal Spring (soon to be back at CICCIC) and Year of the Turtle. Luke’s band – Return of the Native – features two outstanding young players at the beginnings of their careers playing original tunes.
