Printmaking Classes – Summer term 24th April – 3rd July Thursdays 9.30-12.30pm ( Half term 29th May )
Explore print techniques and processes and develop an innovative portfolio of prints. Through various techniques, developed by tutor Adam Grose’s continual experimentation, we will explore various print processes, combining and innovating via the following short course:
10 week course includes the following:
Exploring linocut in greater depth through spending six weeks (18 hours)
producing larger scale prints (A4) and you can bring your own larger lino if you
prefer to work bigger.
Exploring and creating a design through drawing to finalise a finished design that
you will transfer onto a large lino plate
Explore the reduction method and carefully carve out your image over the six
week period
Create an edition of prints
Learn the various techniques associated with forming larger prints and the
various forms of inking involved with the reduction method
Learn about how you can present your finished edition to an audience including
the ability to sell online ‘Monotype, Linocut, Woodcut, Dry-point, Zinc Etching, Block Printing, Lithography, Chine Colle and many more.
These form part of Adam’s ‘transferable skills project’, enabling artists and learners to develop their interdisciplinary skills by combining two of more processes. Compliment your portfolio, build confidence and discover ways of seeing, through practice-based research and experimentation, enabling exploration of your practice in greater detail via various tasks and self-study.
