CICCIC Jazz Club presents some of the best jazz players in the UK and on Friday 3rd April we have fusion jazz band Slinky Machine and with many more amazing bands to come.
About Slinky Machine
Slinky Machine’s progressive jazz is the perfect foil for the jazz lovers’ cross-over music list, with samba riffs and slinky grooves. With more than a sprinkling of Latin and fusion sounds courtesy of Jamiroquai, Slinky Machine provide the perfect soundtrack for a balmy summer Friday night at CICCIC.
Slinky Machine is a four-piece modern Jazz Fusion band who are equally at home in a jazz bar as they are playing to a festival crowd, with a typical Slinky Machine set ranging from exciting original material, through Jazz Fusion classics, to classy re-workings of contemporary tunes.
Comprising drums, electric bass, electric guitar and keyboards including lots of Moog and Hammond, Slinky Machine has been described as:
“A superbly-exciting band fused by the coming together of musical maestros. Slinky Machine’s progressive jazz is just what it says on their tin; slinky, a sleek sound with riffs that cling to the memory and an almost-samba sinuousness that sways the body with the blissful warmth of a summer breeze.” – Geoff Baker, former publicist for Paul McCartney
“A fresh new approach to jazz fusion. With smooth grooves, funky beats and excellent musicianship I know that other clubs will enjoy this talented group of players. Thank you for such a great gig.” – Andrew Knutt, Director, Creative Innovation Centre CIC
“When Slinky played at our flagship HQ in London, the audience, mainly music professionals, were stunned. We loved them!” – Natasha Homer, Yamaha UK
“When Slinky Machine plays a little bit of magic happens – which is why we keep asking them back. Their distinctive blend of jazz, funk and groove interspersed with hook-laden tunes and original compositions proves that practice makes perfect. Without doubt they are one of the most interesting and creative bands hereabouts and we have no hesitation in recommending them. They are, incidentally, easy to work with, professional and completely devoid of diva-like tendencies! – Julie Shepherd, Jazz Jurassica
Check out these great tracks, and they sound even better live so get you tickets today.
