After a summer of open mic, Fire River Poets are delighted to welcome as our seventh guest for the year, the much admired poet Maitreyabandhu, who will read for us on Thursday 5 September 2019. Chairman of Fire River Poets, John Stuart, said ‘Maitreyabandhu is one of British poetry’s quiet practitioners. He shuns the attention seeking and arresting. He is a poet of spirituality and contemplation.’
Members of Fire River Poets will also be reading during the evening and, as John is always at pains to point out “We always provide a platform for poets of all ages and levels of experience, so there will as usual be an open mic session during the evening for any poet who would like to come along and read. Poets who would like to take advantage of this opportunity should apply through the Contact Us page on the Fire River Poets website www.fireriverpoets.org.uk.”
