CLUB KONGO TAUNTON IS BACK
Club Kongo brings a mix of kick ass rock n roll and vinyl DJs to CIC…add in some go go dancers and 1960s light show and your heading for a full on freakout!
Headlining tonight’s Kongo are PALOOKA 5, who play 60s tinged ‘Sci Fi Surf’. Tonight sees them launch their 3rd LP on the SPINOUT NUGGETS label. With regular spins on BBC 6 Music’s Gideon Coe & Tom Robinson, plus SIRUS XM in USA on Drew Carey and Little Steven’s (yes im’ from The Sopranos) Underground Garage, this lot get hotter and hotter. Add in a Four Star review of their last LP in Shindig Magazine makes their ‘bad vibrations’ stage show unmissable!
Currently promoting her new LP ‘Rapture’ and fresh from BBC6 music daytime playlist, Kongo welcomes super talented EMILY BREEZE and her band. The UK’s 21st century answer to Patti Smith performing deeply personal lyrics over grooving post punk rock n roll mash up.
Opening up tonight will be Bristol based, inglorious psych-fiction-acid-rockers ‘Shotgun Sun’, so do not miss!
Shaking it tonight are our fab 1960s go go dancers, the fabulous ‘The Cocktail Shakers’. Expect finger poppin, jaw droppin moves from one of the countries top go go dance troupes.
Back by popular demand and spinning top quality 45 rpm vinyl all night will be Bristol’s ‘The Frathouse/B-Side the A-Side DJs’. This is their second visit to Club Kongo – expected another scorched dance floor mix of surf, mod, freakbeat and ska that sent the punters nuts last time.
This event is sold out – No tickets are available on the door!
