As part of our future at risk and fundraising campaign, we held a public meeting in June 2024, where 100 people attended so they could learn more about our circumstance and help generate ideas moving forward.
At the event we had an ‘ideas and comment’ form that attendees could fill in, and we were humbled and heart warmed by some of the amazing comments.
Though we had so many ideas from the public, it was the comments on what CICCIC meant to individuals and its impact on their life, social mobility, and wellbeing. Plus, what it meant to Taunton, or should I say that many could not bear what the town or their cultural live would be like without CICCIC. We cannot thank you all for your support.

There were some ideas that were very popular, so we are working on these and hope to execute some of them in the near future. They include:
- Better signage outside as many people felt that there is still a lot of people who don’t know where CICCIC is or have heard of it.
- Some felt that some activities and products were too cheap and suggested a gentle price rise to ensure that CICCIC meets with the rise of inflation.
- A membership/friends scheme with a yearly or monthly subscription would help raise regular funds for the centre.
- To utilise more volunteers to reduce overheads.

- To convert our not-for-profit Community Interest Company status to a charity, which would be an opportunity to change our branding.
We had other ideas and comments, but the ones above were the most common, so would like to thank all those who attended the public meeting and for their input, and we will endeavour to act on these.
