CICCIC helped to set up the Ukrainian Café /Gallery to promote this unique culture and cuisine in the Taunton area.
Maryna and Natalie, who will be running the cafe/gallery said “It will provide a central place where the Ukrainian community can come and meet up with friends and integrate with the good people of Taunton. We also want to develop the business so it provides opportunities for people seeking employment and a centre to support the Ukraine appeal”.
Richard Holt co-director of the CICCIC said at the opening event “ This shop will help promote and support the Ukrainian culture within the town and provide a space where the community can visit and find out more and experience the amazing food and art from Ukraine.
The project was supported by the Creative Innovation Centre CIC alongside sponsors such as Beans and Machines, Drain Fix SW, Paydough me, Somerset Supports Ukraine, Rockwell printers, H2 Catering Equipment, Estama, Charis and many individual contributions from the local community.
Maryna and Natalia would like to thank everyone for their generosity and support in getting this venture off the ground and hope people will pop in for a coffee or tea to experience a little slice of Ukrainian culture.
The Cafe/Gallery opens on Monday 27th March 10 -4 pm in the Orchard Shopping Centre, Paul Street, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 3TP Contact uainukshop@gmail.com
