If you had the chance to see a special multi-instrumental performance by musician and singer James Hollingsworth’s Pink Floyd night at CICCIC in 2019 then be prepared to be amazed with James’ amazing Psych Rock Night.
James Hollingsworth summons up his inner Progness to embark upon a journey beyond 3 chords, playing his own compositions well as classics from the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Yes, Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Kate Bush, The Beatles, Roy Harper, Jeff Buckley, Greg Lake, Marillion and more (maybe even a bit of Floyd). An all-live uniquely solo show, James uses modern Looping technology, with hand percussion, voice and guitar effects to build complex arrangements in real time, no pre-recorded backing tracks are used!
“James Hollingsworth plays a darn mean acoustic guitar and knows his way inventively around his pedals. He’s an energetic and animated front man and has a fine set of vocal chords. His music was one of the weekend’s highlights.” – Andy Read – Winters End Festival
“James has an amazing voice and is a superb songwriter, guitarist and performer.” – Loop Masters Night, CICCIC, Taunton
“Ace guitarist James Hollingsworth’s solo Pink Floyd evening last year was incredible! Prepare to be entertained! A Marvel!” – Rose and Crown, Charlbury
“Impressive Singer/songwriter with the, at first, hidden twist of the sound effects that James adds as he goes along. What??? A must see act!” – www.wunderbar.co.uk
“Guitar wizard” – 5 Best gigs – The Independent
“Fascinating one man band James Hollingsworth conjures some wonderful soundscapes with guitar effects and loops to create colour and build the suspense.” – Somerset Guardian
“If you want to see someone who really knows how to use a ‘looper’ check this man out… EPIC!!” – www.songdiner.co.uk
