Music Teachers’ CPD Seminars on Monday 9 September 2019 at Creative Innovation Centre, Taunton
Centre for Young Musicians Taunton & LIVE MUSIC NOW are pleased to present these two unique continuing professional development seminars for teachers & TAs of all subjects working with disabled and non-disabled students. There will be a focus on music teaching but techniques covered will be relevant to many subject areas.
Seminar 1: 10am-12pm Understanding Dyslexia
Seminar 2: 1pm-3pm Progression in Learning for children & young people including those with special educational needs
It promises to be a very worthwhile day which will inspire your teaching and the learning by your students. There will be a chance to ask questions and the opportunity to network with colleagues.
Seminar 1: Understanding Dyslexia.
This seminar aims to help teachers understand Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) the neurological condition of Dyslexia. Following on from last year’s successful seminar on Understanding Autism, this seminar will be delivered by Ruth Garbett from The Cedar Centre, Taunton.
Seminar 2: Progression in Learning for children & young people including those with special educational needs.
This seminar explores the ‘Sounds of Intent’ Ofsted-approved framework that can be used to assess the musical development of children and young people with learning difficulties. This seminar will be delivered by Bea Hubble, a Live Music Now trainer and mentor, Sounds of Intent practitioner as well as a busy musician and teacher.
The event will take place at Creative Innovation Centre CIC, Memorial Hall, Paul Street, Taunton, Somerset TA1 3PF.

It will be delivered by expert in the field, Ruth Garbett, Advisor to The Cedar Centre. It promises to be a very worthwhile event.
